Lecce Sporting Director Confident Inter Milan Target ‘Ready For A Move To A Big Club’ | OneFootball

The Sporting Director of Lecce says that reported Inter Milan target Nikola Krstovic is “ready for a big club.”

Lecce Sporting Director Pantaleo Corvino spoke to Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. He expressed confidence about the 24-year-old Montenegrin international’s ability to make the step up.

Lecce striker Nikola Krstovic has reportedly come onto the radar of a number of big clubs.

That is little surprise. The Montenegrin has scored seven goals and made three assists for Lecce this season in Serie A.

Krstovic had also scored seven in the Italian top flight last time out. That was his first season in the league.

Beyond his goals, Krstovic has also been a key figure for Lecce in terms of his holdup play.

The 24-year-old strength and battling presence have made him a tough striker to mark, and given his team a focal point.

Reportedly, Inter are among the clubs monitoring Nikola Krstovic.

The Nerazzurri will almost certainly sign a striker next summer. The likes of Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa are heading for the exit door when their contracts expire at the end of June.

And Krstovic would very much provide a similar profile in the squad to Arnautovic.

Moreover, at 24 years of age the Montenegrin would certainly tick the box of being a younger player. Inter are aiming to lower the average age of the squad over the next couple years.

Lecce Sporting Director Pantaleo Corvino gave his thoughts on Krstovic. “For now he’s completing his journey here,” said the executive.

“For us, he’s a key player for this team.”

“And we’re still holding onto him. We’re happy to have him here, and he still has more room to grow and become even better.”

“But I’m sure at the end of the season, he’ll be ready for a big team,” said Corvino.
