Liverpool have opened contract negotiations with Conor Bradley as the club looks to reward his rapid rise into the first-team setup. The Liverpool Echo reports that discussions are ongoing between Bradley’s representatives and the club, with the 21-year-old emerging as a key player under Arne Slot.

Having initially served as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s deputy, Bradley has made 50 senior appearances and proven himself as a reliable option in Liverpool’s defensive setup. His current deal runs until 2027, but with Alexander-Arnold’s future uncertain, the club is eager to tie Bradley down for the long term.
Bradley’s development has coincided with uncertainty over Alexander-Arnold’s next move. Liverpool’s No.66 has yet to agree fresh terms, leaving a potential void in the right-back position. While the club clearly sees Bradley as a vital part of their plans, he may also want clarity on Alexander-Arnold’s decision before committing to a new deal.

The situation mirrors that of Ibrahima Konaté, who recently confirmed he had been offered a new contract but remained coy, stating:
“We will see what will happen.”
Bradley finds himself in a similar position—valued by the club but waiting to see how key players’ futures unfold.
Liverpool’s contract situation remains a major focus behind the scenes. With 16 players out of contract by 2027, the club has a balancing act to perform in securing long-term stability while ensuring key talents commit to the project under Slot.
The Echo’s report highlights that apart from Bradley, only Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, and Federico Chiesa are contracted beyond 2027. With Darwin Núñez expected to leave, that number could shrink further.
Bradley’s situation is a reminder of the wider squad overhaul that Liverpool faces. While his contract renewal would be a statement of intent, it’s clear that broader questions remain.
Regardless of external factors, a new contract for Bradley is well-earned. Just over a year ago, he had yet to make his Premier League debut—now, he’s on course for a winner’s medal. His rise has been one of Liverpool’s biggest success stories, and securing his long-term future would offer some much-needed stability during a period of transition.

For Liverpool fans, Bradley’s contract talks represent a positive step, but they also highlight a deeper issue at the club.
Bradley deserves his new deal. He’s a young, energetic full-back who has embraced the challenge of first-team football and played a significant role this season. But the timing of his negotiations raises questions. Is Liverpool pushing to secure his future because of concerns over Alexander-Arnold’s commitment?
It’s no secret that Liverpool’s squad needs restructuring. With multiple players out of contract in the next two years, fans want to see a clear plan in place. Who is staying? Who is leaving? What is the club’s long-term vision under Arne Slot?
Bradley signing a new contract would be a great sign, but it won’t fully reassure fans until Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, and Salah’s futures are resolved. If Liverpool truly want to compete at the highest level, they need to lock in key talents sooner rather than later.
