Liverpool have been tipped to pursue a deal for Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso as they prepare for Trent Alexander-Arnold's departure at the end of the season.

With his contract winding down, Alexander-Arnold has reportedly agreed a contract with Real Madrid, securing a sizeable pay rise to go alongside a significant signing-on bonus.

His likely departure will leave a huge hole in the Liverpool squad and will necessitate a replacement being signed in the upcoming transfer window.

While Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong has long been seen as Arne Slot's preferred replacement for the departing Englishman, La Gazzetta dello Sport name Cambiaso as a potential candidate to succeed Alexander-Arnold.

Cambiaso, a natural left-back who is incredibly comfortable on both sides of defence, was heavily pursued by Manchester City during the January transfer window after Kyle Walker's departure to AC Milan, and Pep Guardiola's side are likely to reignite their interest this summer.

Juventus need to make at least one big sale this year - not least because Thiago Motta's recent departure brought another unplanned expense - and Cambiaso is seen as the most likely sacrifice because of the growing interest in his services.

City's bid in January was reported to be worth €65m (£54.2m) but it is claimed Cambiaso is now valued at €60m (£50m). He still has four years remaining on his contract, so Juventus will not entertain low offers.

Such an expense is feasible for Liverpool but perhaps not in the same summer as potential moves for a new striker and centre-back, both of which are seen as greater priorities behind the scenes at Anfield.

Academy graduate Conor Bradley has been a core squad player for Slot's side this season, making 22 appearances in all competitions, and he would appear to be the natural heir to Alexander-Arnold's position if Liverpool do not make a new signing this summer.
