There are not many players at Bayer Leverkusen that have not caught the eye in the last season, but they did manage to hang onto the majority of their players this summer. However there are a number of sides circling their best players for next summer.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been linked with Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and Exequiel Palacios in the past, and Caught Offside have revealed that Liverpool are looking at both of them. They would be willing to pay €100m for Wirtz, while Palacios is supposedly available for €60m. Even cheaper is Jeremie Frimpong, who has a release clause in his contract of just €40m. The Dutchman was linked with an exit this summer, and Liverpool are amongst his admirers.

Of course, this will not go unnoticed, with Real Madrid highly interested in their current starting right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. The England international is out of contract next summer, and Los Blancos are likely to make an offer for him in January if he remains a free agent next season. It is only natural that Liverpool are preparing for all possibilities, even if they hope to keep Alexander-Arnold, but it does reinforce the possibility that Alexander-Arnold arrives in the Spanish capital.
