Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid after his agents held talks with the La Liga club, and he will sign a five-year deal with them, according to Sky Sports Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

The Reds have failed in their attempts to convince their academy graduate to sign an extension at the Anfield club, and he is expected to officially join Madrid on July 1, which has seen manager Arne Slot identify a replacement.

The Liverpool boss wants Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong to take the place of Alexander-Arnold in his starting line-up going forward, and he has held talks with the 24-year-old.

Bayer want €50 million for Frimpong, and Liverpool could be ready to meet their demands despite the other right-back options at their disposal.
