As a highly sought-after talent, it's naturally more than Villa who are seeking to add the service of Lookman. According to GIVEMESPORT's Will Lancaster, the interest in adding the winger is growing, and he went on to mention Dean Jones adding Lookman to AVFC on the website's transfer notebook.

Granted, at this point multiple clubs are reportedly expressing interest in Lookman. That is to be expected. For a moment, however, adding him to a Rashford and Asensio attack would be an enticing force for fans to be excited about.

Staving off and competing with other Prem sides and then paying the needed wages is more likely with Aston Villa's progression in the various competitions. Advancing in the Champions League, for example, adds a lot of funds that otherwise wouldn't be there. It's unknown how money from this season's competitions would necessarily be allocated, but it certainly helps to add credence to transfer rumors as something of a more realistic possibility.
