Pep Guardiola’s side would at least appear to be over the very worst of their problems now, albeit it remains to be seen how much of a corner has actually been turned.

Still, the Premier League champions did beat West Ham 4-1 on Saturday despite Guardiola playing down the prospect of former glories returning so quickly.

City host Salford in a fascinating FA Cup tie on Saturday and will hope to have players back in their squad to further rotate.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Man City injuries.

John Stones

John Stones has endured a nightmare season on the injury front and hasn’t played since coming off at half-time during the defeat to Aston Villa last month.

His return date remains unclear.

Potential return date: Unknown

Ederson

Ederson has missed the last few games with an unspecified injury but returned to training ahead of the West Ham game.

“Yesterday he trained better,” confirmed Guardiola on Friday.

“It was the first training session without disturbance in his leg.”

Potential return date: January 2025

Ruben Dias

Ruben Dias suffered a muscle injury during the defeat to Manchester United last month and was expected to miss around a month of action.

Speaking before the West Ham game, Guardiola said: “Dias is getting better but not ready for tomorrow.”

Potential return date: January/February 2025

Oscar Bobb

So much was expected of Oscar Bobb but he suffered a leg injury before the season started.

Still, speaking to Mail Sport last week, the Norwegian hinted at a reasonably imminent comeback.

“I think hopefully the end of January or the start of February I can be in and around the squad,” he said.

Potential return date: January/February 2025

Rodri

Rodri’s season-ending knee injury is generally seen as the reason for City’s problems. Though the midfielder has hinted at a comeback in time for the Club World Cup, Guardiola played that down on Friday.

“Before the end of the season would be good but the target is for him to recover well and be ready for next season,” he said.
