Spurs got their season somewhat back on track with a victory over Hoffenheim in the UEFA Europa League, but they will want to do the same to their Premier League season when they take on struggling Leicester City. The foxes sit in 19th position and have lost their last seven league fixtures in a row, so this is a good time for Spurs to try and climb the Premier League table. In fact the only game Ruud van Nistelrooy has won since taking charge of the club came in his first game, a 3-1 home win over West Ham United.

Spurs back in Premier League action against Leicester City

A couple of changes should be made from the win in Germany on Thursday evening, with Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinský and full back Djed Spence coming back into the side, as they were ineligible for selection, albeit the latter could be a doubt says manager Ange Postecogolou. The Australian will still be without key defenders in Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, although the former has returned to the training ground, and front man Dominic Solanke, which means Richarlison could come in for what would be his first start of the season. Midfielders Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma are also touch and go whether they will feature. Spurs will also be without Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner and Wilson Odobert.

Leicester City will be without the likes of Ricardo Pereira, Wilfried Ndidi, Abdul Fatawu and first choice goalkeeper Mads Hermansen. They do still have some dangerous players that could catch Spurs on the counter attack, such as Stephy Mavidid, Bilal El Khannouss, and as well as the veteran Jamie Vardy, who has eight Premier League goals against Spurs.

The 2016 winners have already conceded forty eight goals in the Premier League this season, which is an average of over two a game. The Foxes also sit third bottom for xG (expected goals) conceded, along with Spurs sitting forth for most big chances, with sixty nine. This means Leicester's leaky defence should give Tottenham some huge opportunities to score a couple of goals and hopefully for them make sure the points stay in the capital!

The match will be played on Sunday afternoon at local time 14:00 hours (2PM), however it has not been selected for live coverage on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom due to the fact it's only on Sunday due to Tottenham's Europa League involvement on Thursday. Let's hope for a great game!
