McTominay celebrates Napoli win with six-word message | OneFootball

Scott McTominay has sent a brief message to the Napoli supporters following his side’s important 3-2 victory over Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta in Serie A on Saturday, which has helped secure the Partenopei’s position at the top of the standings.

McTominay was on the scoresheet again in an entertaining 3-2 in Bergamo. Mateo Retegui opened the scoring for the hosts, who then fell 2-1 down after strikes from Politano and the Scot. Though Ademola Lookman levelled in the second half, a big header from Romelu Lukaku sent the three points in Napoli’s direction.

McTominay sends message to Napoli after Atalanta win

“A very important victory, Goodnight Napoli,” McTominay wrote in a message, in Italian, on his Instagram profile after full-time.

The former Manchester United midfielder is now up to five goals three assists from 18 matches in Serie A this season, on top of his goal in the Coppa Italia earlier in the campaign.

He and the Partenopei currently sit at the top of the Serie A table with a six-point advantage over Inter, who, however, currently have two games in hand.

Simone Inzaghi’s side will be in Serie A action against Empoli on Sunday, and require three points if they wish to continue applying the pressure on Napoli at the top.
