Ansu Fati’s future has been a topic of much speculation in the ongoing January transfer window, with the Barcelona forward being out of favour at the club under manager Hansi Flick.
Indeed, the 22-year-old La Masia graduate was left out of the squad by the manager for four games in a row and he only returned earlier this week against Benfica due to the injury-enforced absence of Dani Olmo.
The sporting management and the coaching staff are in favour of Ansu leaving the club and joining a team where he can find regular minutes but the player remains determined to stay.
Amidst all this, AS reports that Fenerbahce will try and sign Ansu Fati in the final days of the transfer window, with manager Jose Mourinho insisting on the Spaniard’s signing.
The Turkish club are considering terminating the contract of Allan Saint-Maximin, whose performances have been underwhelming, and signing Fati on loan until June, as per Mourinho’s request.

Mourinho’s interest in Barcelona’s Ansu is well-known. The Portuguese manager pursued the young Barcelona forward last summer as well, but Fati was determined to stay at the Catalan club, hoping for more playing time.
However, things have not gone as Fati had hoped. The 22-year-old has been overlooked by Flick and has been urged to find a new team.
Fenerbahce are now set to initiate talks with Barcelona if Saint-Maximin leaves. The Turkish giants are hoping to secure Fati on loan with an option to buy, although Barcelona may push for the option to be mandatory this time around.
Fati, who was loaned to Brighton & Hove Albion last season, has played just 186 minutes in eight appearances this term for Barcelona.
