Darren Witcoop is reporting that Cardiff City are in talks with Bundesliga 2 side Hertha Berlin over the loan deal for Wiflried Kanga. The EFL Championship side are hoping to terminate the loan deal early. As a result, Witcoop is repoting that a number of Pro League sides are interested. While none have been named yet, it is likely that Kortrijk could be one of them, given their connection to Cardiff. The side need a forward, and Kanga provided Standard Liege with 12 goals during his loan spell there last season.

While Standard may be an obvious one, Gent could also be another side that may want to explore a Kanga signing, given they did have interest over the summer. The side have lost Max Dean for the next few months and their other strikers are struggling to score. However, the 26-year-old has struggled to do that himself this year. In 16 games for the Welsh side he failed to score or provide an assist. During the 2022/2023 season with Hertha he only scored two goals in 23 games. Even at Standard, there were times where he missed chances that you would expect him to score.
