Matheus Cunha quickly became a key player for Wolverhampton Wanderers, impressing with his ability to play in various attacking roles. Whether as an attacking midfielder, supporting striker, or center-forward, the Brazilian made an immediate impact.

His strong performances caught the attention of top clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain, according to Fichajes. Despite his form at Wolves, rumors suggested the club might be open to selling him for over €70 million.

Arsenal seemed to be leading the race for his signature, though Mirror Football noted that Wolves were determined to keep hold of him unless a significant offer came in.

The I reports that Newcastle are interested in signing Cunha, but the report doesn’t shed light as to whether this will be a January move or one that the Magpies will pursue in the summer.

FootballTransfers recently reported that personal terms are unlikely to be an issue in Arsenal’s pursuit of Cunha. The Brazilian forward is currently in a contract dispute with his club, which has prompted Arsenal to revisit their long-time interest in him.

Arsenal have already been in touch with Cunha’s representatives, and sources close to the situation have confirmed that personal terms won’t be a stumbling block.

The main hurdle, however, is the price. Arsenal and Wolves are significantly apart in their valuation of the 25-year-old. Wolves are reportedly seeking over £70 million for Cunha in January, while Arsenal are hesitant to offer more than £45 million for a player who isn’t their top priority, with targets like Benjamin Sesko higher on their list.
