It’s safe to say Real Betis chiefs would snap INEOS’ hands off to take Antony on loan for the 2025/2026 campaign.
Reports have recently suggested the Champions League-chasing La Liga outfit will submit an imminent proposal to Manchester United in hopes of retaining Antony when his current half-season spell comes to an end next month.
However, you couldn’t blame United’s key decision-makers for flat-out rebuffing the offer, given there’s no instant monetary gain via a straight loan agreement.
In an ideal world, they would sell the Brazilian and recuperate as much of the ludicrous £86 million fee they shelled out for him back in 2022 – though it’s improbable Betis would be able to meet any price tag United set.
Antony is contracted to Old Trafford until 2027 and will continue pocketing £200,000 per week until his terms expire. Since his move to Seville in January, Betis have been covering an estimated 84 per cent of his salary.
His stocks have certainly risen over the last four months, too, so much so that recent speculation has seen him linked with one of the division’s top dogs in the form of Atletico Madrid. In the 19 matches played since Antony’s arrival, he has started each of them and returned an impressive six goals and four assists.

The ‘magical’ (Diario AS) 25-year-old added to his tally on Thursday evening with a crucial goal in the Conference League semi-final first leg; he received the ball on the wing and cut inside for a more centred, left-footed shot on goal that was instantly blocked before he converted the rebound with a tremendous weak-footed volley past former teammate David de Gea.
Post-match, De Gea remarked how he’d never seen the forward score with his right foot after a year of playing and training with him.
Betis legend Joaquin was also left ecstatic over the side’s 2-1 advantage over Fiorentina and revealed the lengths he’d go to to make Antony a permanent acquisition at the Villamarin Stadium.
“I’ll provide the car if he has to be kidnapped, but let him stay no matter what,” he said, as cited by TNT Sports.
