Brighton and Hove Albion full-back Valentín Barco (20) has been loaned to Ligue 1 Strasbourg, both clubs have announced. The Boca Juniors youth graduate spent the first part of the campaign on loan at Sevilla FC. Barco only made just nine appearances for the Rojiblancos in all competitions. He has been recalled and sent on loan to the BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 side. “He had a frustrating time with Sevilla, but this gives him a fresh start and a new opportunity. We wish him well for the second half of the season“, said Brighton and Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hürzeler.

Strasbourg needed reinforcements at left-back with Chelsea’s Caleb Wiley set to be recalled by the Blues pending a potential loan move to EFL Championship side Watford FC. Valentin Barco’s loan move to Strasbourg reportedly includes an option to make his switch to La Meinau permanent. Strasbourg are set to face Rennes this Sunday evening.
