Bayern Munich might be packed with world-class names, but in a season full of twists, it was one of their newest signings, who took centre stage as Bayern’s most consistent performer.
While the goals of Harry Kane, the brilliance of Jamal Musiala, and the leadership of Joshua Kimmich helped Bayern reclaim their spot at the top of the Bundesliga, it was Michael Olise who stole the show with week-in, week-out consistency.
Signed at the start of the season, Olise hit the ground running. In 50 appearances across all competitions, the Frenchman bagged 17 goals and 18 assists - the first ‘double-double’ of his career.
No Bayern player featured more during the Bundesliga campaign, playing in all 34 league matches, and his creative impact made him the top assist provider in the division, finishing three clear of Florian Wirtz.
He also ranked just behind Kane in total goal contributions for Bayern, with 27 to Kane’s 35. Not bad for someone playing their first season at a club of this size.
Olise wasn’t just important in the Bundesliga as he featured in every Champions League match, contributing five goals and two assists.
Throughout the season, he missed only one game - the second round of the German Cup - and, alongside Kimmich, was Bayern’s most-used player in 2024/25.
It was a season of change at the club. With Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané starting to phase out, and Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry struggling to find form, Olise took full advantage and made his mark in his first year at one of Europe’s top sides.
