Manchester City have officially confirmed the signing of Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt. The Egyptian attacker becomes City’s third signing of the transfer window after City’s signings of Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis. Marmoush will have a huge role to play over the second half of the season as Pep Guardiola’s side bid to finish in the top four and secure Champions League football for next season.

Speaking with mancity.com Marmoush is delighted to have joined Pep Guardiola’s squad. He explained: “I’m so happy to be here. Manchester City is one of the biggest clubs in the world over the past 10 years, so it was not a question. It is an honour the club showed an interest in me and now I’m here. The last two seasons have been great, but it is just the beginning for me. It’s a pleasure and an honour for me and my family to be representing Manchester City. It makes them happy; it makes me happy that my dreams are becoming a reality. I’m really excited and I can’t wait to meet my team-mates, get on the pitch and start my journey with the club.”

Omar Marmoush will have a crucial role to play for Manchester City for the remainder of this season and beyond.

After saying goodbye to Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday it was only a matter of time before Omar Marmoush’s move to Manchester City was confirmed. Today has seen the move made official and City’s attack already looks to be a more dangerous proposition with the addition of Marmoush.

Playing upfront for Eintracht Frankfurt Marmoush has starred this season. He scored 20 goals and contributed 14 assists as helped Eintracht Frankfurt compete for Champions League football next season before completing his move to Manchester City.

Marmoush will have a key role to play for Pep Guardiola’s side. Erling Haaland has fought a lone battle up front for Pep Guardiola’s side. Since Julian Alvarez left City for Atletico Madrid Haaland has been City’s only recognised striker. At times he has been forced to shoulder a heavy burden for the world champions. The hope is with Omar Marmoush that he can come in and contribute straight away. He can play up front or in a wide area and the possibility of him playing alongside Erling Haaland is a tantalising prospect.

All told Omar Marmoush looks to an exciting addition to the Manchester City squad. He has shown this season just how good a player he is and the hope is that he can take his game to another level under Pep Guardiola.
