In a match with three red cards, Daniel Munoz scored the winner in the second half as Crystal Palace triumphed 2-1 over Brighton at Selhurst Park.
Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta took just over two minutes to find the back of the net, receiving a pass from Eberechi Eze and smashing home a dipping shot.
However, Brighton responded in the half-hour mark, with Danny Welbeck firing in a close-range effort to equalise.
Munoz grabbed what proved to be the winning goal 10 minutes into the second half, finishing off a brilliant counter-attack led by Eze with a deflected shot that found the net.
The match then erupted into chaos as late red cards started flying.
Substitute Eddie Nketiah and Marc Guehi were both shown their second yellow cards, leaving Palace and Brighton to play out a tense final few minutes.
In stoppage time, Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke also saw red after picking up his second yellow, adding to the drama.
Palace climbed to 11th in the table with 43 points, now just four points behind eighth-placed Brighton.
