Jules Kounde showcased a remarkable performance in Barcelona’s 5-2 win against Crvena Zvezda, playing a pivotal role in their triumph.
The French defender stood out with an impressive display of skill, delivering a hat-trick of assists for Barça’s final three goals.
In post-match comments, Kounde expressed satisfaction with both his personal performance and the team’s efforts, particularly in the second half, where Barcelona elevated their play.
“I think we played a good game, especially in the second half, where we raised the level with more control,” said the defender as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

On a personal level, Kounde highlighted his focus on improving his assist game, acknowledging that while his defensive skills are his primary strength, he aims to contribute more to the team’s attack.
“On a personal level, I’m very happy, it’s a part of my game that I focus a lot on because I have to improve.”
Kounde’s humility was evident as he thanked his teammates for converting his passes into goals, emphasising that his success is interconnected with their efforts. He sees room for further improvement and appears motivated to expand his impact on both ends of the field.
“I also want to thank my teammates, who are the ones who score the goals. I have more room for improvement,” he noted.

Kounde also touched on the high expectations associated with playing for Barcelona. He recognised that being part of such a prestigious club means there is a constant drive to win every competition.
While the season is still ongoing and titles remain unclaimed, Kounde expressed a balanced outlook, noting the importance of staying calm, enjoying the journey, and maintaining focus.
“It is the objective and it is every year when you are at a club like Barça. The season is long and we have not won anything yet, but you have to relax and continue enjoying yourself.”
Additionally, Kounde praised manager Hansi Flick, describing him as a supportive presence for the players. Flick’s close connection with the squad has created a comfortable and motivated atmosphere, which Kounde believes is essential for Barcelona’s ambitious goals.
“Hansi is very important, he is very close and everyone feels very comfortable. We are delighted with him. The objective is to compete for everything.”

Finally, Kounde refrained from commenting on Real Madrid’s recent struggles, choosing instead to keep the focus on Barcelona’s progress. He believes in looking inward rather than being distracted by external matters.
“We think about our own, we have always believed in ourselves. Things are going well because we are enjoying ourselves.”
Kounde highlighted the importance of self-belief and the team’s unity, noting that the positive results are a product of their commitment to enjoying their football and concentrating on their own goals.
“The noise from outside does not matter to us, we have to focus on ourselves,” he concluded.
