With two clean sheets in a row in goal for the Rouge et Blanc, the Swiss goalkeeper spoke at a press conference 24 hours before an important trip to Le Havre (kick-off 7 p.m.), for the 31st round of Ligue 1.

He had a greart match against Olympique de Marseille and the kept the Monégasques’ run going against Strasbourg. With three clean sheets in AS Monaco’s last five Ligue 1 matches, Philipp Köhn now has his sights set on the last four matches of the season, starting with a trip to Le Havre this Saturday (7 p.m.), which he discussed with the media this Friday. 🎙️

Drawing inspiration from the end of last season

This was a perfect example of how to end the season, as we managed to finish very strongly last season. We started the final sprint very well, and I hope we can continue that for the last four league matches.

We’re third in the standings and we’re still riding a very strong momentum despite the draw against Strasbourg. Now we’re focused on this first away match and we’ll do our best to win tomorrow.

The team gave me a lot of support to get me back on track straight away. The match against Marseille was more than successful, with three goals scored and zero conceded. I'm really happy with the two consecutive clean sheets, and now we want to get a third in Le Havre.

The stakes of the match

The end of the season is decisive for all teams, regardless of their position in the table. Every club wants to win, and we know it’s going to be a tough match against a team that will be fighting for survival. As for us, we want to collect the  three points and move closer to qualifying for the Champions League.

Two consecutive clean sheets

The mistake against Brest? It was hard to swallow, but the team gave me a lot of support to get me back on track. The match against Marseille was more than successful, with three goals scored and zero conceded. I’m also really happy with the two consecutive clean sheets, and now we want to get a third in Le Havre.

Confidence for a goalkeeper

It’s true that confidence is essential for a goalkeeper, just as it is for all players. Personally, I have to work on small details every week to improve with each match, and that’s what I’m doing with the coaching staff. There’s a relationship of trust between the outfield players and the goalkeeper, and the role of the team is also very important. Now, I’m focused on tomorrow’s match and aiming for another good performance.

The team’s form on the road

It’s a bit strange this season, because we’re actually doing better at home than away from home, which wasn’t the case last season. But we’re not really thinking about it, we prefer to focus on the next match. We’re in very good shape at the Stade Louis-II, we can count on strong support from the fans. Now we have to succeed in winning away from the Principality and take advantage of the opportunity to play in some very beautiful stadiums.

The Captain’s Role

Denis Zakaria plays a key role; he keeps the team together, both on and off the pitch. The whole team gets along very well; there’s real chemistry within the group. It’s obviously very satisfying to achieve our collective goals, and that’s why we communicate and work together to secure our place in the Champions League.
