In a dramatic contest at San Siro, the resilient Lazio dealt Inter a painful Scudetto blow as they managed to rally back twice to escape with a 2-2 draw.
After scoring the winner against Milan at the same stadium earlier this season, Pedro was once again the Aquile’s ultimate savior, after bagging a brace off the bench. But while the Spaniard is undoubtedly Lazio’s Man of the Match, let’s look back at the performances of his teammates while rating their outings.
Christos Mandas – 5.5
The Greek did well to parry away Federico Dimarco’s shot, but looked shaky on a few occasions. Could do little about Yann Bisseck’s opener, but allowed Denzel Dumfries to beat him at the near post on the second goal.
Adam Marusic – 6
While it wasn’t his most mesmerizing outing, the Lazio captain on the night offered decent contributions on both ends of the pitch.
Mario Gila – 6.5
The former Real Madrid man looked solid at the back, managing to nullify Mehdi Taremi’s threat. Found similar success against Joaquin Correa in the second period.
Alessio Romagnoli – 6.5
A splendid showing at the back from the Italian defender who blocked several shots and made vital interventions, including a suicidal dive to stop Marcus Thuram in his tracks. The only blemish was giving away a free-kick that culminated in Inter’s second.
Nuno Tavares – 6
The Portuguese was obviously not in his best physical shape, which came costly in some duels. Nevertheless, he tried as hard as he could to create something upfront before being hauled off with an injury, as per custom.
Matteo Guendouzi – 6
A mixed bag from the Frenchman who retrieved the ball on several occasions, but also lost some duels in midfield.
Nicolo Rovella – 6.5
The Italy international did well when holding the ball at times, and also made some timely interventions in defence.
Gustav Isaksen – 5
The Dane was guilty of wasting Lazio’s solitary chance of the first half as he couldn’t beat Yann Sommer from close range. He paid the price with an exit early in the second half.
Matias Vecino – 6
The Uruguayan’s assist for Pedro’s first goal sums up his outing: a bit clumsy on the ball, but with the tenacity and determination to make something happen.
Boulaye Dia – 6
The Senegalese put Isaksen through with an inch-perfect pass that should have been an assist by all means. But he wasted an inviting chance to score in the second half.
Taty Castellanos – 5.5
It was always going to be an unpleasant evening for the Argentinian against Francesco Acerbi, but he still had his moments, including a sublime through ball for Dia.
Inter Milan 2-2 Lazio: Pedro’s Brace Hands Napoli Scudetto Assist
Pedro – 7.5
The Spaniard veteran once again tended to Lazio’s needs, scoring a brace off the bench, keeping his cool on both occasions. His influence was also felt in the buildup.
Elseid Hysaj – 6
The Albanian was more defensively disciplined than Alvares, but seldom took part in the offensive phase.
Samuel Gigot – N/A
