After finishing his debut season as top scorer, there was a lot of expectations on Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund ahead of his sophomore campaign in England.

The Dane has flattered to deceive this term, managing only seven goals thus far with only two of them coming in the Premier League.

He has now gone 14 games without finding the back of the net and apart from the lack of goals, his overall gameplay has also disappointed fans.

His confidence has taken a beating as seen from the 22-year-old struggling to even do the basics right on the pitch. He has regularly failed to win duels while his first touch has also let him down on countless occasions.

Rasmus could be on the move

Ruben Amorim is reportedly fed up and is open to the idea of moving him on in the summer. Given his form, INEOS are well aware that they will have to incur a major loss on their initial investment.

The Denmark international was signed for an initial £64 million from Atalanta in the summer of 2023 and the 20-time English league champions are ready to sell if any interested suitor submits a proposal worth £40 million.

As recently relayed by The Peoples Person, Hojlund has admirers both in the Premier League and Serie A with West Ham United and Juventus eyeing the former Sturm Graz star.

Surprisingly, United’s fierce rivals Leeds United are also keeping tabs on the No 9’s future and as per Ontheminute, the Championship side could pounce if they were to earn promotion back to the English top-flight next season.

The Whites are second in the Championship table and are favourites to get promoted and their manager Daniel Farke is a big admirer of the Danish striker.

Leeds eyeing Rasmus

“Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund could be on the move this summer, with multiple clubs showing an interest. Ontheminute.com understands that Leeds United are also keeping a close eye on the 22-year-old, who has so far failed to make the expected impact at Manchester United.

“Leeds United manager Daniel Farke believes the young Dane has big potential and would be interested in making a move if they get promoted to the Premier League. ut the Whites would only be prepared to sign Rasmus Hojlund if they can get him for a reduced fee.”

Not too many direct transfers have taken place between the great rivals with Daniel James the last to cross the divide back in 2021.

United fans might not be too happy if Leeds were to acquire Hojlund and with the player also being a fan of the club, he might also have his say on the matter. But given the No 9’s form, Amorim might give his green light if this were to be true.

With other clubs also in the running, it could become a matter of whoever bids highest, gets their man and Leeds would find it hard to compete with the other names in the fray.
