PSG are a team that Newcastle United can aspire to

I was interested ahead of the Arsenal v PSG match in the Champions League earlier this week.
I have been impressed with PSG in this season’s competition.
The French club had already put Liverpool and Aston Villa out of the competition.
I expected them to beat Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at The Emirates in the first leg of the semi-final. They didn’t disappoint.
Arsenal can be an enigma and I don’t rate Arteta as a first rate coach or manager.
PSG are now a different team to the side that Newcastle hammered at St James’ Park in 2023 and I’m beginning to look upon them as a side the Toon can aspire to in our own future endeavours.
Former Barca and Spain boss Luis Enrique has been in the managerial post for nearly two years now and has gradually put his own stamp on this PSG team.
No more Mbappes and other divas, just hardworking and skilful players with a refreshing attacking instinct.
PSG were far better than the Gunners on Tuesday night and will take a precious 1-0 lead into the second leg at the Parc de Princes courtesy of an early Ousmane Dembele strike.
We are all hoping that Newcastle United are going to secure a Champions League place for next season.
In 2023/24 we were put in the ‘Group of Death’ along with PSG, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.
UEFA have now done away with the group stages and I think the new league format will suit Newcastle to a tee.
At this moment in time, I don’t believe that United are at the same level as PSG. However, I think that we would give any of the other semi-finalists (Arsenal, Barcelona and Internazionale) a run their money.
With the right acquisitions to bolster our squad in this summer’s transfer window, I believe United could do well on all four fronts in the 2025/26 season.
