QS: Milan send message to Liverpool and Barcelona over future of star duo

Tijjani Reijnders and Christian Pulisic continue to be AC Milan’s most consistent performers, and teams from abroad have taken note of this.
As Quotidiano Sportivo reports, the numbers speak for themselves: 15 goals and nine assists for Pulisic this season so far, 13 goals and four assists for the Dutchman. In times of need they have bailed Milan out, like against Como on Saturday.
The renewal of Pulisic’s contract expiring in June 2027 (with an option for another year) is almost ready to be signed, because all that’s missing is the announcement. Bought from Chelsea for around €20m, he will sign until 2029, with a salary increase from €4m net per season to around €5m.
Meanwhile, Reijnders recently renewed until 2030 with a pay rise from €1.7m to €3.5m per year, with no release clause. The management did the right thing to act in advance, not only because of the need to reward their performances but because big clubs are knocking.
Teams like Barcelona, City and Chelsea were interested in Reijnders and Liverpool in Pulisic. Without participation in the Champions League – which looks likely for the Rossoneri at present – those calls could get louder.
After the comeback win over Como at the weekend, Pulisic was asked about whether Milan are the club of his life. His response made it clear: “Yes, 100%. This club gives me so much confidence and it’s a pleasure to be here every day. I want to stay here.”
