Real Betis’ Antony fires warning message to Barcelona | OneFootball

Real Betis star Antony has this week moved to send something of a warning to Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.

This comes ahead of the upcoming meeting between the two sides.

Betis are primed to make the daunting trip to Catalunya’s capital this weekend, to lock horns with table-topping Barcelona in a La Liga clash.

Manuel Pellegrini’s troops will head into the matchup with spirits high in the camp, fresh off six wins from their last seven across all competitions.

This includes a derby downing of Sevilla this past weekend.

And of the opinion that he and his teammates are more than capable of keeping this fine run alive at Barcelona’s expense is the aforementioned Antony.

During an exchange with the media, as cited by Marca, on Tuesday, winger Antony was drawn on the challenge awaiting his side in Catalunya on Saturday night.

And the on-loan Manchester United man went on to explain:

“Yes, a very difficult match. We know the quality that Barcelona has , but we have to work hard. We know the things we have to do to put in a great performance.”

Pushed directly on whether Real Betis could cause an upset by way of another three-point haul at Barca’s expense, Antony added:

“As I said, we have to be prepared, we have to look at Barça’s performance. And well, it’s not impossible because we beat Madrid too. So we have to be prepared and we’re going to put in a great performance.”
