Speaking to the media after Real Madrid’s 4-1 win over UD Las Palmas in La Liga earlier today, midfielder Dani Ceballos aimed a sly dig towards arch-rivals Barcelona.
The victory today sent Real Madrid to the top of the La Liga standings, with the reigning champions now having a two-point lead over second-placed Atletico Madrid.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos have now opened up a seven-point gap over Hansi Flick’s Barcelona, who have been heralded as the best team in La Liga this season for the way they have been playing.
However, Ceballos fired shots at the Blaugrana following Real Madrid’s win, claiming that playing beautiful football does not always guarantee results and at the end of the day, getting a victory is what matters most.
“At the end of the day, playing beautifully doesn’t always give results, the most important thing is to win and if you can do it in the best possible way, so much the better,” said Ceballos, as quoted by SPORT.

The midfielder, who also fired a brutal dig towards Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, touched upon Real Madrid’s advantage in the league title race, saying:
“I think the team is being quite reliable in the league. We have had good results and now we have an important gap that we have to reaffirm in the following matches.”
Ceballos started the second match in a row for Real Madrid today and was very impressive in the middle of the park.
With Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni dealing with physical problems, the Spaniard has a good chance of cementing his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s lineup in the upcoming matches.
