Aurélien Tchouaméni will miss Real Madrid’s crucial Champions League quarter-final first leg against Arsenal after picking up his third yellow card of the competition in the Madrid derby.
The French midfielder was booked in the 39th minute at the Metropolitano, when he halted Antoine Griezmann’s run with a late challenge, earning a caution from referee Szymon Marciniak.
Having already been booked in Real Madrid’s away fixtures against Brest and Atalanta, Tchouaméni’s accumulation now triggers an automatic one-match suspension, ruling him out of Los Blancos’ visit to the Emirates Stadium.
While Tchouaméni is the only Madrid player officially ruled out, several others remain at risk of suspension.
Antonio Rüdiger, Luka Modrić, Eduardo Camavinga, and Endrick are all one yellow card away from missing the return leg at the Bernabéu, though none of them were booked in the match against Atlético Madrid.

For Arsenal, meanwhile, Raheem Sterling is suspended after collecting his third yellow card of the competition during the closing moments of the Gunners’ second leg against PSV Eindhoven.
The Chelsea loanee was instrumental in the 9-3 aggregate victory, providing two assists in the 2-2 draw at the Emirates, but a late sliding challenge on Johan Bakayoko saw him booked in injury time.
Declan Rice is now among those at risk of missing the return leg, having received a booking against PSV for an aerial challenge on Adamo Nagalo before being substituted.
