Saudi Arabia have been hot on the trails of Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. for some time now, with reports last summer emerging that they were prepared to make him the highest-paid footballer in the world if he makes the move.
While nothing materialised, the Middle-East nation continue to hold a strong interest in the Brazilian winger and are lying in wait to make a swoop for his signing this year.
Reports have suggested that Vinicius’ entourage has held discussions with the Saudi Arabian Pro League over a possible switch in the past.
Now, Mario Cortegana of The Athletic further claims that both parties held a fresh round of talks this past December, with the Saudi Pro League keen on bringing Vinicius to the competition in the summer this year.

Following his successful 2024, during which he won FIFA The Best Men’s Player of the Year award, Real Madrid are eager to tie Vinicius down to a new contract, even though he still has more than two years left on his current deal.
While the club have shown a willingness to begin talks over the same, the Brazilian international’s agents wish to wait until the summer as they believe they will have a greater negotiating power then.
Vinicius, for his part, having heard what Saudi Arabia had to offer back in August last year, felt the timing was not right for him to make the switch. Whether that sentiment changes this time around will be interesting to see.
If he opts to move, the report suggests that Al-Ahli would be the club where the Brazilian megastar ends up.
