New Juventus defender Renato Veiga admits he ‘followed’ the Bianconeri before joining them in the January transfer window and insists they’ll play ‘to win’ against Inter on Sunday.
Portuguese defender Veiga has already made three Juventus appearances since joining the Old Lady on loan from Chelsea during the winter transfer window.
The versatile 21-year-old started in central defence in Serie A games against Empoli and Como and against PSV in the first leg of the Champions League knockout playoff.
“It’s still very new. The team welcomed me very well,” Veiga told Sky Sport Italia.
“The players are warm and welcoming, and we are a very good and solid group with a good atmosphere, which is very important,” the Portuguese told Sky Sport Italia.

“Everyone knows Juventus for their history and the amazing players who have played here, including Portuguese players. I knew a lot of things. I also followed the team because there are players I look up to.”
The Serie A giants host their rivals Inter at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday.
“It’s a big game, and we need to win because we are Juventus, and it’s the next game,” said Veiga.
“We go in every game to win, and that’s what we’ll try to do.
“I am somebody who thinks game after game, in the present, and that’s the most important thing.”
Veiga joined Juventus on a dry loan deal from Chelsea, which means the Bianconeri do not have an option to make his move permanent.
Tuttosport reported on Friday that David Hancko is the Old Lady’s primary defensive target for the summer, but Veiga’s permanent move would be considered if they fail to reach an agreement with Feyenoord.
