Dan Friedkin is already working to revolutionize Everton’s corporate and sporting structure.
The Texan tycoon’s first move concerns the search for a new coach, and the name at the top of the Toffees list is that of Maurizio Sarri, writes Corriere dello Sport.
Sarri’s arrival at Everton could represent a move for Friedkin similar to the one made with José Mourinho at Roma, a high-profile coup capable of relaunching the club’s ambitions after a transition phase.
Although Sarri had also been considered for Roma, especially after De Rossi’s dismissal, his recent past at Lazio could have sparked discontent among the Giallorossi fans.
However, for Everton, his experience and playing style could represent added value.
Sarri, who has already won in England with Chelsea, knows the Premier League well and could be the right choice to bring the Toffees back to competing at the highest levels.
