Alejandro Garnacho remains Napoli’s main target to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and with Patrick Dorgu joining Manchester United, the Partenopei hope to finalise a deal in 48 hours, reports La Repubblica.

Napoli hopes that Dorgu’s imminent transfer to Manchester United will allow them to sign Garnacho from the Red Devils.

Although Sky Sport Italia claims that negotiations between the two clubs have not moved forward in the last few hours, Repubblica reiterates that the Serie A leaders want to finalise a deal with Manchester United within the next two days.

It is believed that Napoli won’t offer more than €55m, including add-ons, for the Argentinean talent, while the Red Devils’ asking price is still close to €80m.

However, with Dorgu moving to Old Trafford and Garnacho having an agreement with the Partenopei, Napoli hope to persuade Manchester United to lower their demands and welcome the Argentinean before the end of the January transfer window on February 3.

Sky Sport and other reputable Italian sources claim that Napoli’s primary alternative to Garnacho, Karim Adeyemi, is unwilling to move to the Stadio Maradona as he wants to join a Premier League club next summer.

At the same time, Napoli are also working on defensive reinforcement and could make a big money offer for Fiorentina’s Pietro Comuzzo.

If they get a new defender for over €30m, the Partenopei will consider a loan deal for attacking reinforcement, possibly dropping Garnacho.
