Several clubs from across the La Liga landscape have threatened to take the matter to court, if Barcelona are deemed as having been afforded special treatment in the ongoing ‘Dani Olmo case’.

The name of midfielder Olmo has of course dominated the headlines in not only Spain, but across all of Europe over recent days.

This comes after the deadline for the Spanish international to be registered with La Liga for the 2nd half of the campaign came and went without news.

Barcelona have spent the days since working on a solution, to meet the financial criteria laid out by the Spanish football authorities.

Should such efforts prove successful on the part of the Blaugrana, however, further problems could swiftly follow.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Several clubs in the Spanish League have informed the League of their willingness to go to court to seek the nullity of the competition in the event that they accept pressure from Joan Laporta to be able to register Dani Olmo.’

Any such lawsuit would come in the case of ‘favourable treatment’ being afforded to Barca, after as much was not provided to other clubs in similar cases in the recent past.
