Newcastle United entertained Crystal Palace at St. James’ Park earlier tonight as they looked to secure a good result in the Premier League. The Magpies made a decent start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 14th minute when Jacob Murphy found the back of the net. Marc Guehi doubled his team’s advantage in the 38th minute before Harvey Barnes got his name on the scoresheet in the first-half injury time. Fabian Schar added another goal soon after as Newcastle went into the half-time break 4-0 up on the scoreline.

Alexander Isak scored the home side’s fifth goal in the 58th minute as the Magpies ended up securing a dominant 5-0 win in front of their home fans.

Pope made a few solid saves during the game and did enough to keep a clean sheet.

He was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch.

Guimaraes caught the eye at times and was replaced in the 71st minute.

Joelinton earned possession back once and managed to secure an assist. He was substituted after the hour mark.
