Spurs loan watch: Reviewing everything else

This weekend, though there was no Premier League football, there was plenty of other football in other leagues. As a result, there was plenty of football for Tottenham Hotspur loanees. We have already covered George Abbott and Notts County here, as well as the Championship round up here. So, let’s quickly go over everything else that happened.

How things went for the rest of the Tottenham Hotspur loanees this weekend

In the National League, Luca Gunter started for Wealdstone, as they lost 3-0 away to York City. The Spurs loanee made four saves during the game – he has now played 1170 minutes for the Stones since joining on loan in January.

This defeat has now put Wealdstone back into the relegation zone, as they sit in 21st place, with 42 points from their 39 games. Next up is a big home game against Boston United, whom currently sit 20th - one place above Gunter’s side – on Tuesday night, for a 19:45 BST kick off.

North of the border, Alfie Dorrington and his Aberdeen side hosted Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership, with the Spurs loanee in the XI. It was the nightmare start, conceding after just five minutes, but eight minutes later, Dorrington scored his first professional goal with a superb finish to equalise.

From there, Aberdeen went onto win 4-1, making it a great day all round. What an afternoon for Dorrington. These three points leaves Aberdeen in 4th place in the Scottish Premiership, with 46 points from 31 games. Next up is an away game against Ross County on Saturday, the penultimate game before the split into Championship round and relegation round (like the Belgian Pro League). 15:00 GMT kick off for that one.

Over in Spain, Alejo Veliz and his RCD Espanyol side picked up a credible 1-1 draw at home to Atletico Madrid in La Liga. The Spurs loanee came on at half time, picked up a yellow card, and failed to register a shot of any note. This draw leaves them in 15th place, with 29 points from their 28 games. Next up is an away game against Rayo Vallecano on Friday night, for a 20:00 BST kick off.

Finally, in the Belgium Pro League, Luka Vuskovic was named in the starting XI for KVC Westerlo, as they faced Dender away from home. Alfie Devine was named amongst the substitutes.

It would prove to be a tough day at the office, as Westerlo were condemned to a 1-0 defeat via an own goal. Vuskovic played 81 minutes, whilst Devine came on at half time, playing well and recording; 44 touches, 25/27 accurate passes, one chance created, 4/5 accurate long balls, one shot off target, four clearances, one interception, and five tackles.

This leaves Westerlo bottom of the Conference League play off round, as the only side not to pick up a point on match day one. Next up is a home game against OH Leuven on Saturday, for a 17:15 BST kick off.
