City secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Liverpool in the Barclays Women’s Super League at the Joie Stadium last time out.
First-half goals only 13 minutes apart from Bunny Shaw landed us with a strong 2-0 lead at half-time before strikes from Jill Roord and Gracie Prior sealed the fate of the match in City’s favour.
The crucial win at this stage of the competition landed City in a secure spot in the league with only two points separating us from the division's top three heading into this week’s match against Spurs.
Bunny Shaw netted a record breaking hat-trick which helped us emphatically beat Vilahamn’s side 4-0 on Etihad soil in our previous meeting with Spurs.
In just 21 seconds, Shaw buried the ball in the back of the net in front of over 10,000 fans to hand us the perfect start at home and she doubled her tally in the 15th minute.
Jill Roord got her third goal in three games midway through the second period to bring Taylor’s Blues 3-0 up before Bunny secured her treble only a minute later to become the division's all-time record hat-trick scorer.
Our match with Spurs will be broadcast live on the official Barclays Women’s Super League YouTube channel in the United Kingdom.
For those tuning in outside of Great Britain, the full global TV listing will be published soon.
