Super agent Mendes explains meeting with Barcelona | OneFootball

Player agent Jorge Mendes has provided an insight into the reasoning behind his recent meeting with La Liga giants Barcelona.

Mendes for his part set tongues wagging across the Barcelona fanbase on Tuesday evening.

This came after the super agent was spotted making his way into a meeting with a number of leading members of the boardroom at the Camp Nou.

As much gave rise to immediate chatter surrounding the Portuguese’s clients, from AC Milan’s Rafael Leão to ex-Barcelona starlet Francisco Trincão and more.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the sit-down between the parties, it therefore came as little surprise when Mendes was drawn on the central figure in his Blaugrana talks.

The agent, however, assured that the gathering came only to talk further over Lamine Yamal’s new contract terms:

“Lamine Yamal will sign a new deal at Barça, for sure. That’s guaranteed. We only spoke about Lamine today, he’s staying with a new deal.”
