Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has every reason to be pleased with his decision to come out of retirement.

After all, the Polish goalkeeper has quickly established himself as a key figure in Barcelona’s resurgence in La Liga.

His presence between the posts has played a crucial role in the team’s recent defensive solidity, helping them secure vital victories without conceding a single goal in their last three league games.

Barcelona maintained clean sheets in their encounters against Rayo Vallecano (1-0), Las Palmas (0-2), and Real Sociedad (4-0), showcasing Szczesny’s impact in goal.

For what it is worth, these performances are not isolated cases, as the veteran goalkeeper has proven his reliability across multiple competitions.

He made his debut in the Copa del Rey against Barbastro, where Barcelona secured a 4-0 victory, and followed it up with another clean sheet in the Spanish Super Cup against Athletic Club (2-0).

His strong performances continued in LaLiga against Alavés (1-0) and in the Copa del Rey against Valencia (5-0).

Despite his impressive displays, Szczesny has faced challenging moments as well against Benfica and Atletico Madrid.

However, these setbacks have not overshadowed his overall contribution. In the 13 matches he has played so far, Barcelona have recorded 11 wins and 2 draws, remaining unbeaten with him in goal.

Hansi Flick has been clear about his faith in Szczesny, firmly considering him the team’s first-choice goalkeeper.
