‘There are two more titles’… Pedri remains focused on upcoming games despite Barcelona final win

In this recent Copa del Rey final, Barcelona needed to make sure they showcased their best version. Unfortunately, this game ended up being much closer than the last two El Clasicos that took place this season. Still, Barcelona ended up as the champions of the Copa del Rey by the final whistle.
However, there is no way that this game can be talked about without addressing Pedri’s overall performance and the outing he had against Real Madrid. From the first minute of the game until the last minute that he played in this game, the Spaniard was a complete menace for Los Blancos to deal with.
Eventually, he ended up scoring the first goal of the game and what a strike it was. After taking the ball from a Pau Cubarsi interception, the midfielder launched a beautiful long ball into the path of Lamine Yamal on the right wing. As the winger made his way closer to the Real Madrid goal, Pedri continued to creep towards the edge of the box.
Then, in a moment of pure magic, Yamal set up Pedri towards the outside of the penalty box and simply no Real Madrid player had expected him to be in that position. As soon as the ball came his way, Pedri launched a beautiful strike into the far corner and Thibaut Courtois could do nothing to stop it from going in.
However, after the game, it seems that Pedri is happy with the win but is focused on the upcoming matches even now. As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, the young midfielder still believes there is a big job ahead for the team:
“We’re happy now… but there are two more titles and we wanna go for it.”

This is exactly the kind of mentality that this team needs to have, as they are now set to face off against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League. A massive fixture for both Barcelona and their Italian opponents, it will require them to be at their very best.
As of right now, Barça are still competing for both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League. With five games left in La Liga, and two legs remaining in the UCL semi-final, the Catalan giants still have a lot to do.
Moreover, Pedri will be desperately needed in the upcoming games. Hansi Flick already reportedly did not want his players to celebrate too much if they won the Copa del Rey, and Pedri’s response to winning the title is exactly what the Barcelona coach would have wanted.
