According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Lille midfielder Angel Gomes (24) is set to leave the Ligue 1 club on a free transfer. The England international midfielder’s contract at the Stade Pierre Mauroy is set to expire in June and no agreement has been reached on a deal, meaning that he should leave as a free agent at the end of his contract.

Gomes has attracted interest from several clubs due to his transfer status. L‘Équipe understands that both Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have held talks with the Englishman over a potential return to his homeland in the summer transfer window. The Lille playmaker is no stranger to the Premier League after graduating from Manchester United’s academy.

Preparations underway

Ahead of negotiating a move to a new club in the summer, Gomes has already undergone preparations. The 24-year-old has signed with a new agency, Romano reports, to allow him to negotiate the best possible deal after his contract expires with Les Dogues.
