We are still months away from the official opening of the summer transfer window, but several Premier League clubs are already trying to seal some huge deals for next season. Arsenal and Manchester United both appear to have got a significant new boost in the race for Viktor Gyokeres, with the Gunners also still being strongly linked with the likes of Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Martin Zubimendi.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has now reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid on a massive contract on a free transfer at the end of the season, leaving Liverpool urgently seeking a swift replacement. They are rumoured to be targeting Jeremie Frimpong, with suggestions that they are close to signing the Bayer Leverkusen star. At least 10 players could apparently leave Manchester United in the summer, with Victor Osimhen among their top striker targets.

Chelsea could have their eye on Liam Delap, while Tottenham are said to have made an early swoop for Sunderland midfielder Chris Rigg as they also battle Manchester United for Yusuf Akcicek. Follow the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip live below!

Real Madrid are closing in on a deal to sign Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer this summer, writes Simon Collings.

Alexander-Arnold is out of contract at Anfield at the end of this season and has not agreed terms on an extension.

The England star, as a result, would be able to leave for free in the summer and, according to multiple reports, Real Madrid are now closing in on signing him.

Tottenham 'make £37m bid for Chris Rigg'

Tottenham are rumoured to have made an early move to sign Chris Rigg ahead of the summer.

Sunderland’s teenage midfield sensation is expected to have multiple suitors in the next transfer window after already playing more than 60 times for the Black Cats aged just 17.

West Ham are among the other clubs to have been linked with Rigg, though Spurs are reported to have swooped already.

According to Fichajes, they have launched an offer worth approximately £37m for the England Under-19 international and are now awaiting a response.

Manchester United target move for Francisco Trincao

Manchester United are interested in a deal for Francisco Trincao, reports claim.

A summer of significant change lies ahead at Old Trafford with Ruben Amorim widely expected to overhaul his consistently underperforming squad.

However, he apparently needs to sell players before he can buy, with reports this week that at least 10 could be on the way out at the end of the current season.

Focus will then turn to new additions, with the Daily Mirror reporting that Amorim is keen to raid former club Sporting Lisbon for Portugal winger Trincao, who also played under his compatriot at Braga.

However, Arsenal and Newcastle have also been linked with the 25-year-old rated at around £30m, with Barcelona also inserting a buy-back clause in their deal to sell him to Sporting in 2023.

Trincao is no stranger to English football, having spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Wolves.

Liverpool are said to be closing in on the signing of Jeremie Frimpong to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The versatile Dutch full-back looks to have been on the transfer radar at Anfield for some time and could now be about to secure a return to the UK following previous spells with Manchester City and Celtic.

Defensa Central in Spain report that Real Madrid also made enquiries to Bayer Leverkusen over Frimpong in the event that they could not seal the signing of Alexander-Arnold, but have since been told by an intermediary that he is close to joining Liverpool.

Trent Alexander-Arnold agrees massive Real Madrid deal

The biggest transfer news story of the day undoubtedly concerns Trent Alexander-Arnold, who looks to have finally agreed his high-profile summer move to Real Madrid.

Los Blancos have long since pursued a deal for the England right-back and had multiple bids snubbed in January before continuing their pursuit to line up a free transfer at the end of the season.

Real now look to have achieved the breakthrough with talkSPORT among the outlets reporting that Alexander-Arnold has sealed his massive move to the Bernabeu.

They claim the 26-year-old has agreed a mammoth five-year contract worth in excess of £220,000 per week.

Arsenal and Manchester United get huge Viktor Gyokeres boost

Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly been handed a key boost in the race to sign Viktor Gyokeres.

The former Coventry striker is in huge demand after a prolific couple of years in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon in which he has scored 83 goals in just 91 appearances so far.

Most of the biggest clubs in Europe have been linked with Gyokeres in recent months in some form or another, though Arsenal and Manchester United - the latter managed by ex-Sporting boss Ruben Amorim - appear to be the two main suitors in the fierce battle for his signature as both seek major forward upgrades this summer.

Reports from Portugal cited by the Daily Mirror now claim that Sporting have agreed with Gyokeres that he will be permitted to depart the Estadio Jose Alvalade if a team offers a transfer fee in the region of £50.2m-£58.5m.

A transfer battle could be brewing between Arsenal and Tottenham over Matheus Cunha.

The Brazilian forward has really caught the eye this season with his performances for Wolves, where had scored 15 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions before receiving a three-match ban that has since been extended to four games.

Chelsea have option to send Jadon Sancho back to Man Utd

Chelsea have a decision to make over Jadon Sancho.

The winger is currently on a season-long loan at Stamford Bridge from Manchester United, where his initially promising form has given way to a prolonged period of indifferent performances.

Chelsea’s loan deal for Sancho included the obligation for a £25m permanent transfer this summer.

However, The Athletic report that the Blues can choose to pay a set fee of £5m to United to not go through with that.

Manchester United have drawn up a summer striker shortlist containing four early names, reports suggest.

The Red Devils are among the Premier League giants crying out for attacking reinforcements for next season amid the struggles of Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, the latter of whom recently ended his long goal drought.

Harry Kane is not the only world-class striker with a reported preference to join Liverpool, it would appear.

The Reds have also been mentioned as potential contenders in the race to sign Newcastle frontman Alexander Isak, along with Arsenal and many others.

Catalan outlet El Nacional report that Isak would be open to a potential summer switch to Barcelona, bit would most want to move to Anfield if given the choice.
