Transfer news – LIVE

The January transfer window is heating up as it approaches the final manic few days of player trading. Arsenal are strongly expected to sign a new forward in the closing stages of the month and recent reports in fact suggest the Gunners are confident that RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko is eager to join Mikel Arteta’s team. However, Wolves insist they will not sell Matheus Cunha.

Chelsea continue to be linked with all manner of moves too. Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho has been tipped as a Blues target and fresh reports claim the Blues have now made contact with the Premier League rivals, while United are said to be keen on Christopher Nkunku.

United are yet to make a signing under Ruben Amorim but could also turn to Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli. Follow all the news, gossip and rumours with Standard Sport’s transfer blog below!

Done deal!

Kyle Walker has completed his move to AC Milan on loan until the end of the season.

The 34-year-old told Manchester City earlier this month that he wanted to move abroad, with Pep Guardiola leaving Walker out of the side since he came off the bench against West Ham on January 4.

That exit has now been made official, with Walker joining Milan on an initial loan deal for the rest of the campaign. The Serie A side have the option to make the move a permanent one in the summer for a fee of around £4.2million.

Walker posted on Instagram: “Manchester City… where do I start? Signing for this incredible club in 2017 was a dream come true. Seven years later, winning 17 trophies, including the Champions League and the famous treble is something I could only have dreamt as a child.

“To play alongside so many top players has pushed me to be the best version of myself, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity I’ve had at the Etihad.

Lecce set Dorgu asking price

Lecce will not let Patrick Dorgu leave for less than £34m in the January window.

Manchester United have made two approaches for the wing-back but neither have met the Italian club’s valuation.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Lecce want to keep Dorgu until the summer and so will not drop the asking price.

Man City business

It's already been a busy window for Manchester City.

They've welcomed defensive duo Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis as well as bolstering their forward line with the signing of Omar Marmoush.

But can we expect more business from Pep Guardiola's side?

That remains to be seen as they've been linked with a move for Juventus defender Andreas Cambiaso as a replacement for Kyle Walker who is AC Milan-bound.

Tel u-turn?

A lot can happen in a week.

Following a substitute appearance in Bayern Munich's 5-0 thumping of Hoffenheim, it appeared a January exit for Mathys Tel was off the table.

However, following two games without an appearance since, reports now claim the forward could change his mind on leaving before the transfer window closes.

This will be music to the ears of Chelsea who have held a long-standing interest in Tel.

Perhaps a swap deal is on the cards as Bayern have been linked with a move for Christopher Nkunku.

Real Madrid expect to sign Alexander-Arnold

Major development, potentially, in the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Earlier we brought reports that Real Madrid are beginning to accept that Alexander-Arnold will stay at Liverpool in this window after seeing a bid rejected.

However, Marca claim that an agreement between Madrid and the English international is well advanced, and is expected to be finalised in the summer.

Of course, Alexander-Arnold's contract at Liverpool expires in the summer which means he can sign a pre-contract agreement with any club outside of England.

Maresca makes transfer admission

Chelsea are yet to sign anyone this month despite holding an interest in Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho, for example.

With just over a week until the January transfer window closes, Blues manager Enzo Maresca has said the club "are always" looking for opportunities to sign new players.

"We are always looking at situations with the sporting director, we will see if anything happens."

Potter tight-lipped on West Ham striker search

West Ham have been linked with moves for Jhon Duran, Andre Silva and Ajax's Brian Bobbey before the transfer window closes.

However, Graham Potter was reluctant to comment on the club's search for a new striker.

"If I answered every question on the speculation then we would be here a long time and it would be pretty tedious," he told reporters. "So we just ignore the noise and help the players that are injured to get back.

"We are always looking obviously, but there are lots of factors. The club invested a lot of money in the summer, so we have to be mindful of that - and in this window, it is always complicated to find the right person.

"It is important to work with the players that are here to help them improve, so that is the focus and is what we have been doing."

Frank reveals stance on Wissa

Thomas Frank must be counting down the days until the January transfer window slams shut!

This is what he’s had to say about Yoane Wissa after Brentford rejected Nottingham Forest’s £22m bid for the forward...

“There is a lot of rumours, he told reporters. “For me, again he is a Brentford player and in my opinion Wissa is not for sale.

“He has been our leading number nine and done fantastic, so I cannot see why we should sell him."
