With that in mind, here are some of the unique milestones to watch out for this weekend from coast to coast.

Vancouver pushing to continue record run

Few would deny just how good the Vancouver Whitecaps have been this season, and Jesper Sørensen's men have a chance to add their name to the MLS history books this weekend.

Currently sitting on 26 points and an overall record of 8-1-2, the Whitecaps could become just the fifth side in league history, and the first since the 2010 LA Galaxy, to register at least 29 points across their first twelve league outings.

Should they bank all three points against a tricky LAFC, the question becomes if they will go on to secure the Supporters' Shield and then some.

Benteke's dominance in D.C. presses on

After an up-and-down career on European shores, Belgian striker Christian Benteke is truly enjoying life in the US capital with D.C. United, and his goalscoring instincts remain critical to anything the capital club hopes to achieve at Audi Field.

Coming into the weekend on 44 goals in just 78 appearances, the reigning Golden Boot winner has a chance to bag at least one goal against Toronto FC, pushing him level with Christian Gómez for second all-time in the club's goalscoring charts, needing 45 fewer matches to achieve that feat.

He won't catch DCU legend Jaime Moreno, but his legacy at the club certainly will be cemented.

Sounders strong defense showing in xGA

While we can spare you the old trope regarding what a strong defense can lead you to, the Seattle Sounders have been on a tear of late (3-0-1) and are proving that stoutness in defense really does matter.

Boasting the best xGA in all of MLS coming into matchday 12, Brian Schmetzer's outfit is up to seventh in the Western Conference and could make another push should results go their way this weekend.

With the fourth-fewest goals allowed in the West, could a springboard for a considerable run in 2025 be brewing?

Seattle’s Musovski remains unshackled

Staying in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle's Danny Musovski has finally settled to life at Lumen Field and brings a four-match goalscoring run into the weekend fixture against Houston Dynamo.

With four goals in nine appearances in 2025, Musovski has a chance to climb into second for the club's longest goalscoring streak, putting him within one goal of former club fan-favorite Raul Ruidíaz.

Musovski may not be one of the most prominent names on the team sheet, but he's proving his worth.

Gallese eyeing-up MLS goalkeeping history

Orlando SC star man and key shot-stopper Pedro Gallese has found another gear in 2025 as the Peruvian veteran booked a fifth-consecutive shutout last weekend against Chicago Fire in the Windy City.

Sitting just one clean sheet behind Minnesota United's Dayne St. Clair, Gallese will fancy his chances at potentially pulling level with the Canadian international when Orlando lock horns with New England Revolution, who have managed just nine goals in 10 matches thus far.

Should he keep the Revs off the scoresheet, Gallese would become just the fourth goalkeeper in MLS history to record a shutout in six consecutive outings, joining iconic names Tony Meola and Donavan Ricketts, with a chance to set a new record along the way.
