Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has already turned down a move to Roma during the ongoing transfer window, according to The Times.

The Brazil international has fallen out of favour since Ruben Amorim’s appointment as the new manager. He has been an unused substitute in 10 of the last 13 games.

Amorim has made it clear that he does not feature in his plans. The Portuguese does not believe the 32-year-old can cope with the intensity and physical demands of his style of play..

Roma have been linked with Cesmiro over the last 24 hours, but he has already rejected a move to the Serie A giants this winter.

Casemiro wants to move to the Saudi Pro League, where the wealthiest clubs would be able to pay him more than his present salary of £350,000 per week.

Casemiro could stay at United until the summer

The former Real Madrid man has been hugely inconsistent over the past 18 months, and there are no surprises that he has fallen out of favour since Amorim took charge.

The 40-year-old likes to play with high intensity. Casemiro does not fit into his project. Toby Collyer has recently been preferred ahead of the Brazilian off the bench.

Casemiro, described as ‘world-class‘ by Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, may have to pursue a new challenge away from Old Trafford for regular first-team football.

A move to Serie A would be a good choice for his career, considering the league is more tactical and less intense. Casemiro would be a superb acquisition for Roma.

However, the midfielder does not appear keen on the move and is eyeing a bigger payday in Saudi.

No one can complain about his stance. Casemiro has won everything possible at club level with Madrid and has added another couple of trophies to his CV at United.

He is now eyeing a substantial salary package at the back end of his career but may have to wait until the end of the campaign to move to the SPL.

Al-Nassr have been credited with an interest in signing him in the past, but they have different priorities and are focused on signing Jhon Duran or Victor Boniface to bolster their attack.

With the huge outlay required for either striker, Al-Nassr may not make a winter offer for Casemiro. United will hope to recoup at least £20 million this summer.
