Villarreal star believes 22-year-old Barcelona star is now reaching the level of David Silva | OneFootball

The arrival of Hansi Flick has changed many things at FC Barcelona, most notably, the form and fortunes of some of the biggest names in the Blaugrana squad.

For instance, players like Raphinha, Lewandowski, and Inigo Martinez have seen their performances improve drastically under the German coach, while some players have not been as important this season as they have been in the last few years.

However, one player who continues to impress with his performances, as he has been doing since his debut for the Catalan team in 2020, is the midfielder Pedri.

Although only 22 years of age, the Canarian is one of the more experienced players in Flick’s side and has been one of the most influential players for his team this season despite not getting on the scoresheet much.

With his incredible performances this season, the midfielder seems to be on his way to making a name for himself in the history books, not only for FC Barcelona but also for his native land, the Canary Islands.

This was also the opinion of another La Liga player from this part of Spain, i.e., Yeremy Pino, who is returning to his best form for Villarreal after having recovered from a serious injury.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, Pino believes that Pedri is reaching the level of one of the biggest names in Spanish football, particularly from the Canary Islands, in recent decades.

“Silva set the bar very high for several years, but now Pedri is reaching that level.”

The Villarreal winger also highlighted the Blaugrana star’s improved physical fitness:

“He’s having a great season. Injuries have unfortunately affected him, but it’s a pleasure to watch him play now in every match.”

It is definitely good to see other players seeing Pedri to be close to the level of legends like David Silva. But to make things even better, the Canarian’s ceiling is still unknown, and he can go on to make even more improvements in his game as he is still only 22 years old.
