A leading member of the defensive ranks at Barcelona made use of the opportunity to poke fun at arch rivals Real Madrid on the back of the club’s latest outing.

This, of course, comes fresh off Barcelona wrestling back Spanish football supremacy from Los Blancos.

Hansi Flick’s troops marked their return to action on Thursday night, making the short trip across Catalunya for a derby meeting with neighbours Espanyol.

When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a 2-0 result, courtesy of goals on the part of Lamine Yamal and Fermín López.

And in the process, Barca secured their status as La Liga champions, for the 28th time.

Following the full-time whistle at RCDE Stadium, passionate celebrations, in turn, were kicked into gear across Hansi Flick’s squad.

And as alluded to above, in the midst of as much, one Barcelona star aimed a less-than-subtle dig at Real Madrid.

Whilst on a live stream on his official Instagram account, Alejandro Balde could be heard saying:

“What were they saying in December? What was the points difference?”

This marked a jibe at Real Madrid, and in particular their supporters, many of whom went as far as to celebrate their side’s impending title win prematurely upon opening up a gap atop the La Liga table late last year.
