Chelsea fans have become rather split on Enzo Maresca, but he’s made some comments last night that I’m sure every fan will love.
The new comes after Chelsea beat Copenhagen 1-0 on Thursday night to advance into the quarter finals of the Conference League, winning the tie 3-1 on aggregate.
It wasn’t easy for Chelsea though and once again they were very bad in the first 45 minutes. It took a stunning solo goal from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to get The Blues over the line and into the next round.
Enzo Maresca made some big changes at half time, although one of them, removing youngster Josh Acheampong, received some criticism. Maresca has since explained his thinking behind that move.
But the bottom line is that Chelsea are through and Chelsea advance in a competition that they are expected to win.
They will now face Legia Warsaw in the quarter finals of the competition in what will be seen as a very favourable tie.

Enzo Maresca has come out and said Chelsea ‘have to’ win the Conference League this season in a defiant message after the game last night.
Maresca has challenged his players to go all the way. In words picked up by The Evening Standard, Maresca said:
“This club always won trophies in the past and we need to do our best to achieve our target this season. We have to give to the fans and the club a title.
“It’s important to reach the quarter-finals. Now the target is the next step which is the semi-finals. We deserved it over two legs. We changed and adjusted in the second half and we were much better. You need patience.”
I think for once Chelsea fans will collectively be happy to hear Maresca speak this way!
