The winter transfer window has officially closed and deadline day was as hectic as it is known to be.

For Real Madrid, however, it was a very silent window as the Merengues opted not to make any reinforcements despite their defensive crisis.

On the departure front with the futures of Arda Guler, Endrick, Jesus Vallejo and many other called into question at some point and linked with a move away from the club, although nothing came to be.

West Ham wanted Endrick

Now, as relayed by talkSPORT, Premier League side West Ham made an ambitious effort to sign Endrick from Real Madrid in the recently concluded winter transfer window.

The English giants hoped to sign the Brazilian wonderkid, who has been struggling for minutes under Carlo Ancelotti, on a potential loan deal but did not manage to get it across the line.

West Ham made contacts with Endrick over a potential move, but Real Madrid would hear none of it and were not willing to allow the 18-year-old to leave even on a short loan.

While Endrick has indeed found it difficult to see regular minutes, the management maintains that it is a part of his adaptation process. It may well be Real Madrid’s way of protecting the player from the hype and the limelight.

Needless to say, one can expect him to enjoy a little more prominence in the coming months especially with the schedule cramping up across all competitions.

In fact, he may even have a role to play tonight when Real Madrid take on Leganes in the Copa del Rey with big names like Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham missing.
