Hammers increasingly short of options in attack
West Ham are without Crysencio Summerville and Niclas Fullkrug as they host Fulham in the Premier League tonight.
The latter hobbled off just 15 minutes into new manager Graham Potter’s first game in charge as West Ham were knocked out of the FA Cup by Aston Villa last Friday. It was confirmed after the game that the hamstring injury was a concern, and has now been ruled out for “months”.
Despite Fullkrug’s injury and Danny Ings being the only fit striker at West Ham, with Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio both already out, he is not selected as the focal point of the Hammers attack.
In fact, it would appear that Mohammed Kudus will lead the line with Lucas Paqueta offering support.
Unfortunately for the Hammers, Summerville, who was substituted at the break against Villa, and was a doubt for the London derby doesn’t even make the matchday squad.
Left-back Emerson Palmieri returns in place of 19-year-old Ollie Scarles, who played well in that position against Villa.
Konstantinos Mavropanos is fit and keeps his place alongside Max Kilman at the heart of West Ham’s defence whilst Guido Rodriguez and Carlos Soler are among the three changes to the side that started at Villa Park.
West Ham XI: Fabianski, Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Kilman, Emerson, Rodríguez, Alvarez, Soucek, Soler, Kudus, Paqueta
Subs: Foderingham, Coufal, Cresswell, Scarles, Casey, Orford, Irving, Luis Guilherme, Ings
