Chelsea are going through a difficult period currently, but what Willy Caballero had to do at full time sums the club up at the moment.
The Blues fell to a second defeat against Brighton in the space of a week, and they were outclassed in every department as they slumped to a 3-0 loss.
Enzo Maresca’s men were toothless in attack and defended terribly as Karou Mitoma scored a brilliant goal, whilst Yankuba Minteh grabbed a brace.
Chelsea remain fourth, but it’s now just two wins in their last nine league matches and the Blues will drop out of the top four if results go against them over the weekend.
Already without Marc Guiu and Nicolas Jackson in attack, Chelsea lost Noni Madueke to a hamstring injury in the first half, with the England international likely to be sidelined for a while.
It was an evening to forget and fans were rightly frustrated with many leaving early and very few supporters were left come full time, whilst Cole Palmer cut a frustrated figure throughout.

As is the norm at the end of games whether win, lose or draw the players go over and applaud the fans, but it was a very poor effort on Friday night, and according to journalist Simon Johnson it almost didn’t happen.
He took to X.com and said:
“A very token effort by majority of #CFC players to go over to the away end after the final whistle.
“Looked like it took assistant coach Willy Caballero to get the players to even walk over…captain Reece James the only one to go anywhere close.”

If that is the case it’s totally unacceptable and once again highlights a complete lack of leadership in the squad, which has been exposed again this season.
It doesn’t get any easier for Chelsea as they face a tough trip to Aston Villa next weekend and it could get worse before it gets better.
