Matheus Cunha has quickly become one of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ key players, showcasing his versatility in various attacking roles. Whether as an attacking midfielder, supporting striker, or center-forward, the Brazilian has seamlessly adapted to whatever position he’s asked to play.

His strong performances have caught the attention of clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain, according to Fichajes. Despite his impressive form at Wolves, reports suggest the club could be willing to part with him for over €70 million.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports News claims that Nottingham Forest are preparing a club-record bid of around £60 million for Cunha, which could be enough to convince Wolves to let him go.

As the January transfer window draws to a close, Aston Villa is expected to intensify their pursuit of Wolves star Matheus Cunha following Jhon Durán’s departure, according to a former club scout.

Mick Brown, a former chief scout at Man United and Blackburn, stated that Cunha would be a “great fit” for Villa as they look to replace the outgoing Colombian, who is close to leaving for Saudi Arabia.

“Cunha is a very decent player,” Brown told Football Insider. “Usually, teams who are down the bottom of the table are likely to lose players because the player is keen to get out and move up the league.

“I think Cunha could play in a lot of Premier League sides, so it doesn’t surprise me that there’s interest in him from Aston Villa. We’ve been talking about Duran’s future as well, so if he does leave, Villa are going to need to find a replacement for him. It could be a busy end to the window for them.

“That would make a lot of sense, since they’ve been looking at Cunha as a key target, to bring him in as a replacement for Duran because they still want that depth with Watkins there too. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him make that move before the window closes.”

Recently, Football Insider, citing sources, reported that Wolves were expecting offers for Matheus Cunha before the transfer deadline on February 3rd. Aston Villa, Arsenal, and Nottingham Forest were all said to have shown strong interest in the 25-year-old forward.
