No less than 18 players from the Paris Saint-Germain Women’s squad spent the last ten days on national team duty. Here’s how they got on during the international break.
It was a good window for Paris Saint-Germain’s France internationals Elisa De Almeida, Sakina Karchaoui, Griedge Mbock, Thiniba Samoura, Grace Geyoro and Marie-Antoinette Katoto. Les Bleues began the group phase of the UEFA Women's Nations League with a 1-0 win over Norway on Friday in Toulouse, and followed that up with a 3-2 triumph over Iceland at the Stade Marie Marvingt in Le Mans. Katoto netted in both matches, including an assist from Karchaoui in the second game. Laurent Bonadei’s side sit atop the Group A2 in League-A with maximum points, 3 ahead of Norway.
There were two Nations League matches for England, featuring Paris ‘keeper Mary Earps during the international break. The Lionesses drew 1-1 with Portugal in Portimão on Friday before beating Spain 1-0 in London, five days later. They are equal at the top of Group A3 with Portugal. Mary played the entire first game for her country.
The Netherlands of Jackie Groenen and Romée Leuchter also count four points from their opening two Nations League outings. The Oranje Leeuwinnen drew 2-2 Germany in Breda on Friday before recording a 2-1 win away to Scotland in Glasgow four days later to sit second in Group A1, behind Germany on goal difference. Jackie played two full matches while Romée was introduced off the bench at Hampden Park.
Like Les Bleues, Poland, featuring Rouge et Bleu Paulina Dudek won both their Nations League matches. The Bialo-Czerwoni defeated Northern Ireland 2-0 in Gdansk on Friday, and then Romania 1-0 in Bucharest four days later. The Paris defender played every minute as Nina Patalon’s side shot to the top of the Group B1 standings in League B, 3 points ahead of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The USA hosted the annual SheBelieves Cup featuring Paris Saint-Germain players Korbin Albert and Crystal Dunn. The USWNT defeated Colombia 2-0 on Thursday at the Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas, and then beat Australia 2-1 three days later at the State Farm Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona, before going down 2-1 to Japan on Thursday at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California. Emma Hayes’ side finish second behind Japan who won all three games.
The Mali national team, with Paris attacker Agueissa Diarra booked their place in the second round of qualifying for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations,, Morocco 2026 where they will take on Cape Verdi. Les Aigles Dames eliminated Gabon courtesy of two big wins: 6-0 at the Stade de Franceville on Thursday and 4-1 at the Stade du 26 mars in Bamako five days later.
The France U23 side with Parisiennes Tara Elimbi Gilbert, Jade Le Guilly and Laurina Fazer played two friendly matches. Fabien Lefèvre’s side lost 2-0 to Italy at CNF Clairefontaine on Thursday, and 1-0 to England at the Lamex Stadium in Stevenage five days later.
France U19 with Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alyssa Fernandes, and Paris U19 forward Ornella Graziani, won two friendly matches in Spain. Philippe Joly’s side began with a 6-1 over Sweden on Saturday, before beating Norway 2-1 three days later. Both matches took place at the La Nucia Sport Center.
And so, La Nucia was where we also found Paris forward Froya Dorsin with the Norway U19 side. Before going down to Les Bleuettes, where she scored her country’s goal, Froya started and captained Les Lovinnenes as they defeated Denmark 2-1 on Saturday.
